Froggie Rescue
A couple of nights ago we went on a short walk with the intention of just going down to the entrance of the Arroyo at JPL.
Well, along the way I spotted a 2-inch froggie at the curb. Sergio, with the nimbleness only former boys have, caught him and our walk turned into an evening hike. The Arroyo was awash in all kinds of sounds. Other frogs, an owl, crickets. Hard to believe we were only moments away from George's liquor store. Other than 2 women and their off-leash dog (big no-no)...it was us and the frog!
We released him pretty close to the water where we heard other frogs. We opted not to go closer in the dark because we heard so many scurrying creatures.
Quite an unexpected adventure. He was really cute...beige with dark spots and his bulging was adorable.
Today in the garden...
Finally, in went the Jack-O-Lantern pumpkin plant. I hope not too late for Halloween. Didn't have any good ground to put it in until now. My first time planting pumpkins.
Temperatures on Friday, July 22th 2005
Hot and humid. Over 100 on the back porch thermometer at around 4 p.m.
The dining room read 86 degrees. So that means the kitchen was even hotter!
Cats were zonked in the bathroom. I felt sorry for Buster and Daisy. So took them into my air conditioned office one at a time. Each had to stay in my arms in front of the AC.
It's 7 p.m., Sergio snuck off....hmmm...where to?
